5 Tips to Make Your Home Heating Delivery a Breeze

oilheat delivery massachusettsIt might not come as a surprise that home heating oil usage increases as the cold season kicks in. As boilers and furnaces rev up in Massachusetts, Cubby Oil’s delivery trucks take to the streets. During this time, it can be stressful for homeowners to arrange a rush fuel delivery.

5 Tips for a Successful Oil Delivery

Since 1945, we have proudly provided Boston and its surrounding towns with reliable, friendly fuel delivery. Here are five tips that will make your next oil delivery as quick and easy as possible.

Remove Anything Blocking Your House Number

It’s hard to receive your fuel if the technician cannot find your home. Winter weather and early sunsets make locating the proper house a challenge. Be sure there isn’t snow or shrubbery covering your address and turn on an outdoor light if you have one.

Clear a Path for the Driver

After a significant snowfall, the last thing many of us want to do is go outside and shovel. However, an oil delivery truck must have access to your home. Please ensure that the driveway is cleared of snow and salted before the delivery truck arrives, especially if they will need to park on a steep incline.

Unlock Your Gates

If there is a fence between our truck and your fill pipe, please be sure to unlock your gate or have someone on hand to open it. If you have a friendly pet in the house, ensure they are safely inside and can’t escape while the gate is open.

Remove Debris and Snow from Your Fill Pipe

When your Cubby Oil technician arrives, they’ll need to access your inlet valve. You make this easier by establishing a clear route to it. If you clear away the snow, ice, foliage, and, debris from your fill pipe ahead of time, our delivery person can locate it quickly and complete the job before you know it!

Become an Automatic Delivery Customer

The winter season is a busy time for many, and it’s easy to forget to check your tank’s oil level. Many people only notice their oil tank is low when it’s already quite chilly, and they need to schedule a quick fuel delivery. If you want to avoid a last-minute scramble, we recommend you take advantage of Cubby Oil’s automatic delivery option.

We estimate when you need a refill based on your prior heating oil usage and the present weather conditions. You will know well ahead of time when your oil delivery will arrive, giving you plenty of time to prepare.

If you aren’t a Cubby Oil customer yet, we would love for you to join our family. Search for your ZIP code here to see if you live in our service area. You can contact us anytime with questions!
